Morning Message 10/5/12

“To the world you may be one person, but to one person you are the world”

Greetings Amazing Writers!

Look at the Landmark Paragraphs in the hallway. Wow, do we have amazing writers in here!

During math block, we will practice different subtraction strategies for large numbers with white boards.

After recess and lunch, we will D.E.A.W and then take our Extended Writing Pre-assessment. During Reading Class, we will continue to learn about an Author’s Purpose, PIE. This afternoon we will play Jeopardy again and then take the end-of-the-unit Social Studied test.

Pretend you are a main character in a story. What would you want the setting to be like? Why?

If I were a main character in a story, I would want the story to take place around the time of Westward Expansion in the late 1800s. I would want to be a hero that traveled on the Oregon Trail and lead my family to a new home with new opportunities.

Excited to learn today,
Mrs. H
